Why:

Double cleansing simply means cleaning your face twice with two different types of cleanser.  Firstly an oil based cleanser followed by a water based cleanser.   Why?  To achieve a deeper clean which allows your skincare products to penetrate the skin.

The double cleanse is particularly good for those who wear heavy make-up, sunscreen or have an oily skin.  Make-up and sebum (natural oils produced by your skin) are lipophilic, which means they dissolve in oil.

How:

First cleanse:

Start your double cleanse with baimeni’s Sweet Almond Oil & Vitamin E cleanser. Massage gently into the skin and rinse off with warm water and a clean cloth. This will remove make-up, sunscreen and grime that has accumulated over the day.

Second cleanse

This is then followed by baimeni’s Aloe Vera and Citrus gentle, water based cleanser.  Gently massage your face and neck with the cleanser then remove with a warm, wet wash cloth.

When:

For the heavy make-up user or those with an oily skin, we recommend a double cleanse in the evenings before bed and a the Aloe Vera cleanse in the morning.

For those with rosacea or eczema, we do not recommend a double cleanse.  Rather alternate between oil and water based cleansers.

Combo skin, double cleanse at night.

For those of you with “normal” skin, double cleanse two to three times per week in the evening.
